@489 AI enables the company to shed 25% to 35% of the cube dwellers and TATA enables the company to shed about the same number of fab workers, so yes, it is a win-win.

Then come the humanoid robotics.

Maybe now would be the best time to sell the house and do rentals instead, before the housing crash caused by AI middle-class disruption craters home prices?

Just a thought.

What is coming (starting this year by all appearances) is disruption. New roles will also be created, as the old roles are automated.

Learn to AI and learn to robot, and you should be good till the singularity, when Skynet starts going after the non-bots.

it's coming..

This should enable many of the fab technicians to go back into the military, where they will be needed for the scheduled global conflict.

So it is a win-win.

This is probably the best solution for the past mistake of hiring vets to work in the fabs.

Ok guys

Let US government compete directly with Indian government. How many US people can speak Indian language ? How many Indian people can speak American language.

This does seem like the perfect solution for H1Bs.

Now they can work from home, as it were.

win-win

I've been hearing that India's the next big growth market for years. Just watch the vlogger videos of India. Can you have any or expectations for a place like that? Indians will tell you just to visit the Taj Mahal.

Everyone going on about this like it is a bad thing or something.

India is the next big growth market, and tariffs are the new cool thing.

So manufacturing has to be added where demand dictates, and that ain't the US.

Now if the company can just find a buyer for the older fabs.

That would be sweet!

LBT is a liar.

Looks like Intel has developed a solution for what to do with the older node production.

This should enable the company to sell off (or in some cases simply shut down) the older fabs that much sooner, so that IFS can focus on leading node production.

Also should save the company a lot of H1B fees, so it is a win-win.

Randhir was run out of Intel because he was incompetent and did not execute. Disaster to partner with him. He is an academic, not results oriented.

This does appear to be a great way to help reduce reliance on H1Bs, which should make all the ignorant fab monkeys happy.

Yet they are sad.

If India cannot manufacture food hygienically, how can they create ICs? I guarantee you the workers will be washing their hands in the same water while the chips are getting made. Would not want to buy a potato chip made in India.

all driven by our great president trump. Thank you sir! Lets drive those jobs offshore! MAGA MIGA meanwhile say your tarriffs are great and we wont pay any income tax soon. wont pay any income tax since i wont have a job

@OP

So intel gets paid to what produce its chip designs in a foreign country for a foreign market

This just sound like product company outsourcing to avoid reverse tarrifs

Disgusting to see Intel transfer technology to India. The money saved from the US layoff is used to pay India workers.

It is very disappointing for Intel CEO to say one thing, and do the opposite. He said to boost US manufacturing, but what he did is to move to India and Malaysia.

No wonder Intel is playing layoffs for Q1 and Q3.

This sums up their underlying plans all along. LBT funnel Intel business into his investments. He is smart, very anti-american through. I hope Pat's new company beat Intel

Tara in India is invested by Walden International where LBT is the chair. Intel is Tara's first customer. So investing Intel's money to Tara is like pouring money from LBT's left pocket to his right pocket. Is this valid? Can LBT grab Intel's money and give to his own company?
