Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Will Oxy start moving engineers to midland?

I've seen some emails about temporary assignments in West Texas as well as the high ups saying maybe new engineers in the rotation program will stay out in midland longer than the program

My guess is the poster below is between 23 and 27 years old, majored in ethnic studies, been waiting on someone to forgive his student loans, still wears a covid mask (just in case), has recently died, braided or bleached his hair, can talk for an hour about intersectionality, and thinks he would be a good manager because of a class he took once. Am I right?

Also don’t forget that just over the border in New Mexico you can actually have some fun with casinos and edibles. Why the people of Texas put up with the restrictive laws is beyond me. The government here is as oppressive as found in many countries run by dictators. Some blame it on the religious groups but it goes deeper than that. Texans really like to be controlled by their government. People here basically have no minds of their own.

Looks like executives want to bump up their million dollar bonuses at the expense of engineer minions

@OP

If you had to give a credit card to see them there emails, you may have been scammed.

If not, I echo @f6+1jxzv55jp: Enjoy the Carlsbad caverns. Just be careful - bat guano doesn't launder or shampoo out easily.

Closer to 5 or 6 months.

@az+1jxzv55jp If you have that information and it is true I doubt you would post it on this site, because you would be high up the management ladder. People that have that type information are not going to post on this site, so stop acting like you know anything and are just speculating.

If you believe anything you read on this site is “insider information” you are in big trouble.

Wrong. Layoffs are not coming in the next 4 months. No way. VSPs on the other hand are a real possibility

Moves will start this summer and finish by the end of the year. We need to get the numbers down at GW to get the base set for design of the new building. Moves will also coincide with layoffs and VSPs that are coming in the next 4 months.
