Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Behind Bars

I’d say well over half of Dell employees have already given up settling for soul-su-king routines, mistaking survival for success. They’re not building careers, they’re serving time.

So what? As long as the paycheck covers my needs and a decent amount of my wants, what else is needed?

I don't care about my legacy at this schithole. Career schareer.

Dell is an insane asylum, in which you sometimes get a weekend pass.

At least in Shawshank they knew they were prisoners. At Dell, they badge in, fake a smile, and call it a career while quietly dying inside one calendar invite at a time.

I like Shawshank movie but Dell isn't even a bad movie. It's real life.

Dell’s strategy? Cheap and naïve labor. Keep people just comfortable enough to settle, then drag them back into the office like it’s some badge of honor. Truth is, most are just clocking in to serve time - passion left the building years ago.
