Canon is a depressing place to work at and for. The mess starts from the top and since they su-k the people they promote and hire su-k 1+1=2
Anything they try and do to give off the impression that they actually care about their workers comes across as non caring and insulting. Company wide emails and town halls spew propaganda and lies hoping that the “bottom feeders” don’t catch on. Work is being outsourced more and more to the Philippines. To the point where not much is left for any of us to do. Coming into the office is a joke and only the ones enjoying social hour like to come in or the ones that hate being around their families at home. To top it off when you have some teams work 9-4.30 (HR) at the same pay as the ones still stuck working 8.30-5 at the same pay that really boosts morale. No consideration no thought process! Supervisors that openly gossip with other employees about employees or management and when mentioned to HR get to keep their job. Come and feel free to tell us if you see something hear something for what? So you get put on the trouble maker list?
Now back to the hybrid schedule that now includes coming in on a Thursday when Holiday falls on a Monday. What kind of …… came up with that? Clearly someone that gives no fu--s about morale or their employees! You reap what you sow! You don’t give a fu-k workers don’t give a fu-k! People are looking for work while in office. Economy su-ks as everyone knows. So good luck finding anything. The clock is ticking on Canon. Turn the TV off…….

@f3 totally agree! Brought up to HR that my then mgr told a coworker about my work performance and guess who still works there…. They don’t give a sh-t! Laugh at their d-mb jokes smile when smiling is required and just do what you are told to do. Grateful I’m no longer there! Good luck to the ones left!
Not sure which Office locations you’ll are referring to??? but HR in Melville doesn’t do this…… anyways what I will say is that the Melville HQs office hours are 9a.m. To 5 p.m. ….and many people come in early. And there are plenty who stay after 5 p.m. (oh…..and not just the expats either….). But HR should be the least our concerns (if we’re being honest) … 🥴👀🤨…. And Yes., I 100% Agree about the holiday rule being completely obsurd!!!! Good luck and… prosperity to all 😏of us.
I've seen HR coming late after 10 am and leaving before 4.
@f3 Good for you for being one of the lucky ones that got laid off.. The amount of people that want the same thing is eye opening!! The numbers aren't great but you will hear they are, the morale is non- existent and the level of toxicity is mind blowing... I wonder in other branches aside from Melville, how empty the lots are looking.. What does that tell you?!
I'm gonna also agree that HR is NOT in at 830...My eyesight is fine because I know what I saw...
I can confirm HR was not in at 8.30! So who is not being truthful here not the original poster it appears go figure #justanofficeworker

For every action there is a reaction company only cares about profits equals employees that couldn’t care less if it doesn’t affect their paychecks positively. That applies at any job, office or no office Mr / Mrs management. Why you on this page? I’m going to agree with the post it is not about bad attitudes but rather it is about what Canon represents! I wouldn’t recommend this job to my worst enemy! The pettiness and retaliations when going against office politics is unreal. When supervisors put your information out there to other employees and get to keep their job after doing that multiple times tells you what a company is all about. They don’t care! So glad I got out when I did reading these posts made me realize I was one of the lucky ones last year! Thank you for laying me off!
Wow that is a lot of hate for someone that does office work. Please do find another job because it is this morale that is ki-ling any company not just yours

Not sure where you got that HR works till 4:30pm but very inaccurate!!! HR like everyone else works till 5pm.
