Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Corporate please pay people a liveable wage.

The cost of living is skyrocketing, and people can't afford to make ends meet on the penny-pinching wages you pay. You can do better.

The wage inequality in this country is horrible. People making $50,000 or less a year, can't make ends meet anymore. The poverty line in this country needs to be seriously raised up, because it's too low. The cost of living is constantly going up, whether it's rent, mortgage, groceries, utilities, health insurance, car insurance, etc., etc. The whole thing is unsustainable. And the problem is that corporations cry foul anytime raising the minimum wage is discussed. Frankly the fact that the Federal minimum wage is only $7.25 an hour is disgraceful.

All that said, CVS perpetuates this wage inequality problem, with UNDER 3% raises that don't keep up with inflation, or the cost of living. Add that to the fact that new hires make almost as much as someone here 10-20+ years, and you have a recipe for disaster. Now before you say "all big corporations are like that", I'm not talking about all big corporations, I'm talking about CVS. The same CVS that one of its executives famously said "We want to make CVS the best place in the world to work", only a few short years ago.

CVS, I think it's time to put your money where your mouth is.
