I wouldn't pray to be laid off any day. We're all aware times are tough and it's going to get tougher.
I'm not sure what your situation is with the reimagined. I know a lot of folks who are 2 yrs from retirement that are attempting to stay for a few more years and then retire.
I know folks who want out and can't as they do not meet the Reimagined VSP.
They stay because it pays the bills.
Good luck to you!
@f0 If you are someone who normally has 15% taken out, you will have 38% taken out, like a bonus check is every trimester. Do you maybe get that money back at tax time, sure. You will getting less "take home" on those VSP checks every other week. When you are unemployed, it sorta helps to have as much as possible each pay period.
There is no such thing as bonus tax. Everything at the end of the year is taxed at your marginal tax rate. VSP is your income just like your salary. Nothing to report here.
I just want the right people to be cut. But that won’t be the case.
You are not alone
If you are laid off just make sure they pay you to leave. Don’t give them what they want for free.
Apparently the VSP is taxed like a bonus. Love how they don't mention this when offer is proposed. #transparency #culture
I’m sorry you are feeling this way. Others feel the same from time to time.
