Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Today my manager told me

I work at BSC for IT. I remember when IT Center of excellence was a thing. Elmenhurst and Colbert loved IT Product Systems.

Today my manager let me know that I may be getting laid off.

After years of voting no for the union and training boeing India I guess my time as come.

I'll miss the culture. My wife is already looking at other options.

BSC was and will always be boeing's attempt to bluff the unions in the poker game of life. You were never meant to be a forever thing and were just pawns from day 1. I expect boeing to leave SC and set up operations in Alabama over the next years as soon as they get their governor to give them a similar sweetheart deal like Nikki Haley gave them. Start packing.

I read that Union employees will be affected. 33000 on strike, 17000 for lay off. Rumor says 1500 @ BSC... that math isnt hard from there... 15500. Negotiate a contract, go back to work, layoff because you hire for rate 52 and only run 38, plus the delay on 777 and ending 767. Logical and Realistic...

As of now the striking machinists are part of the exceptions from being laid off. This means the 10% will be a higher impact from the remaining pool. But fear not, there will be a second round which will include those currently on strike. Good luck to everyone.

Go ahead down voting dork, down vote away.
