Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Is anybody completely ignoring RTO?

If the answer is yes, did you receive any blowback so far?

@ez I heard they are cracking down on RTO and if you are not showing up, you will be told you are expected to be in the office 4 days a week and if not, you will be let go. Leaders will be getting reports soon that will give details about their direct reports. Our department is taking this very seriously and having difficult conversations with associates.

@mk they'll track if you're actually logged on and track activity. I.e. no mouse jigglers

@me not surprised at all. However, nothing freaking works like it should here, so it will be interesting to see if these monsters dump tons of $ into micromanaging their peasants while the day to day systems continue to get "improved" with spare parts out of the junk pile. ELT can eat sh!t and choke on it at this point. Low IQ demons.

@me It's unusual that they'd track home Wifi use, since HO associates are supposed to be on hardwired connection by default, not that everyone does that.

@em can confirm. Heavier tracking is coming. It’s actually already here and in pilot: badge swipes, how long you’re on home office WiFi, ensuring hba is on their home WiFi, strokes on a keyboard, and if you’re using ai enough or not.

@em, nothing will change. The process on the 3 day work week did not good and leadership did little about it. Some leaders were doing the same thing on not showing up for 3 day in office.

From what my TL has told me, your badge gets scanned. All they know is that you were in a HO building with a check mark by your name. But, more invasive tracking software is coming. The check marks get added up and you end on a naughty list that gets sent to DL. The GP enforces it on the DL, DL on the TL, TL onto the naughty boy or girl who didn't commute into the sh!tbox with cubes. It's all soooo stupid.

Can any leaders share what’s in the RTO calculation guide? Non-leaders are blocked from the page.

@bj imo it's an appropriate analogy since just because you're not immediately in trouble doesn't mean that it's not being tracked.

@bv at that rate, if the leader can, the employees can too.

I’ve only gone in three times and my manager was working from home all three times. Once was because she had a sick kid and the other two were because she had scheduled repair persons to be at her house. It was at that point I said sc--w it

@b6 maybe my choice of language was incorrect here. Because I don't believe that wfh is theft of any kind to the employer. Our time is being stolen by leadership.

However, the days of slap on the wrists, leader guided decisions, or fair warnings seem over, do they not?

Target will "let you" shoplift up to the felony amount and only stop/ pursue you when they can nail you with a life altering charge.

With leadership being hypersensitive about RTO since it just launched, paired with Missouri being an at-will state, I don’t know if it’s worth the risk to “completely ignore” RTO.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely hate everything about the RTO mandates, but I feel like that’s an easy way to get an immediate target put on your back.

No, that is against company policy. I imagine some are not following it to a T due to a variety of factors but generally showing up 4 days on average a week is likely.
