Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I’m Tired of Same Topics

Can we talk about something other than FN74 cancelled, the train station, big layoffs tomorrow, 2008 CEO? I’m tired of the same rehashed topics.

@j9 "There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov, 1980

"Rhetoric helps win elections, when making quality infrastructure and educating the populace becomes hard." - Random person, 2025

@hz I understand your intention to share that I shouldn't make it complex, but I am leveraging the context collapse to my favor to speak to another audience like a good faith dog whistle. There are many reason context collapses which could be the result of a lack of incentive or rigor based on my published research. I was not meaning to come off smart, in fact i did not use ChatGPT. I am appealing to an audience that has the incentive to learn and understand the words so it can not only neutralize the dog whistle I called out, but future dog whistles. The ones with an incentive to try to understand.. in good faith.. are the ones that most likely be the ones to be armed with a strategy instead of holding onto hope. We can call it hypocritical as a dog whistle, but I would describe it as meta-communication. The clear communication is far below the contemporary self-fulfilled intentional sabotage in the contemporary. I get what you're saying, but i figured concise to call that out is best so there are less straws to grab and distract from the message in itself. I was expecting for someone to say there is an over-estimation in ones intellect or an attempt at trying to sound smarter than I am, but I find what you said generally productive despite contributing to the derailment.

@hv Lexical directness constitutes the superior communicative strategy, given that deviation into oblique semiotic modalities precipitates interpretive distortion.

@ht Ad hominem dog whistle feigning ignorance instead of objectively showing that as outcome which is an attempt to incite tone policing as means for begetting a continuing cycle of ad hominem to derail comments below that are insightful and productive. In political history, it has been shown that calling out dog whistles like the comment i am mentioning has shown to diminish its effect once brought into the conscious mind.

Most of the posts in this thread are an embarrassment if written by actual Ford employees. Fortunately, they most likely aren't current full-time employees.

@g3 Exactly, "out of fear they may point out things you don't like".

There is no sense of urgency because they need to rely on people that take life one day at a time and never beyond the given moment (or account the past). Perhaps they even know it themselves they're complicit and okay with being used. Regardless, there is no one around alert enough to pick up on wrong doing. Either keep weak people, or try to weaken strong people without accidentally breaking them in the process and hope that they stay. Non-linear thinking is non-existent

@ae You can not reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth. They will dance until the bitter end acting like they did the right thing and then say "what do you want from us"? These people dragging it out this long are not worth protecting. It sends the message of what is acceptable and what is not, that is a failure in leadership that lacks a strong action bias towards highly sensitive issues. Try us in court tactics are an abuse of our judicial system. Especially when preyed upon on our youth, who already have a short window to maximize brain potential during those formative years. These people walk amongst us cosplaying as real leaders in our community. These people look at it as if it can be 'taken back' once it is thrown. There are consequences to actions in life. It may be easier to punish those who demand accountability, but you only prolong their pain all while sealing the demise of your own sense of having a soul. Jokes are funny, but what has been echoing amongst us is not a joke, it is a failure of systems around us when counted on for doing the right thing. I hope things get better in Michigan because look around, it is easier to kick down emerging community leaders out of fear they may point out things you don't like... but doing that and normalizing it will only delay the inevitable which is further suffering left unheard and unchanged as we have learned that "nothing can be done about it". This does not sound like a system that understands the importance of a sense of urgency. Time to put up, or stop the virtue signaling. Especially the fighting amongst each other. Hope is not a strategy. Time to do this for the good of the service and our soul.

I think i should say it. Somebody will say it. I’m gonna say it even if you don’t want to hear it. Well… I think the board should bring back Allen Mullaly. The guy saved ford with one hand tied behind his back…he the only one that can do it! Never took government money. The guy was absolute genius.. the others…I’ll put it nicely….disappointed. Succession planning is very important folks!

@OP. This site is for info on layoffs, already a painful subject. Expecting rainbows and unicorns in here is just crazy. Also, expecting to be "entertained" or be "bored" by this site is nuts.

@ad Why yes, why don't we stop talking about negative topics @OP intentionally left out as a recurring theme such as blackmail.

Let's talk about our future not the past.

What is ambiguous loss anyway? Sounds like some pseudo-intellectual jargon-dropping to compensate for their overestimated competence through verbose language to me!

Let's talk about our cars. Enough negative feelings. No more, buster!
