What’s the unofficial version of events in Qatar these days?

@5m9 what is DR?
@5m9 and now let go.
Scandal yes. DR rushed out of the country back to Australia.
@ex They can figure it out but your post made me laugh. Why do you think the HC10 expats there right now are in leadership positions? Yes they have developed capability but your narrative is a stretch. The direct hires really aren’t very good. They know the words but don’t know how to execute the processes that are required. They run off expats like me who try to improve things and challenge or point out problems and suggest changes. The long time expats who are there are part of the problem more concerned with extending their assignment than helping improve things.
QP does not need our assistance. QP has more experienced LNG personnel than XOM has and many more experienced project people (with over 30 years of LNG and offshore operations). The EM office simply needs to focus on managing the venture relationship and budgets. QP can execute with their own staff (they are the operator for over 30 years now). Fewer than 15 people (including admin) are needed in Qatar and high priced expats can be repatriated to their HC10 companies, then pip'd or if EU (offered a package). XOM no longer offers a value add or experienced personnel over what QP has developed in the past 30 years.
EM is winding down in Qatar. That is all. Need fewer people.
Just looking at the announcements for Qatar, the valuable people in Qatar are being transferred out, usually without replacement, or with an expendable replacement.
This consistent activity seems to indicate something is up.
Someone with direct Qatar knowledge please let us know the EM strategy.
