Thread regarding Five9 Inc. layoffs

Fireside Waste of Time

Once again Mike did a terrible job on the fireside, didn't address the poor executive team survey results and when he was asked about job security he gave his terrible answer of , more sales and work harder.

Mike please resign and all a competent CEO to lead the company forward.

@aw Mike "Straight to the Bank" Burkland is apparently trying to settle out of court on the recent Nepotism lawsuit per some of the chatter amongst the sales team.

@ew I can't believe he said he was happy when good people left.

@b7 it was complete gibberish! The guy is lost. Work harder, increase sales and be in a valued role or in round 4 of the layoffs, you're next!

@OP And what was that—‘make sure you’re in a role that’s valued so you’re not impacted’? Or did I hear that wrong?

Things will never change so long as Mike is in charge. Gotta hope for a new CEO somehow or an acquisition that gets us a stock bump and payout. Short of that, gotta look for a new job.

@OP I especially liked Mike’s comment “I don’t lose any sleep at night over these shareholder lawsuits” which is very tone deaf and inappropriate. It must be easier to sleep at night when you don’t need the paycheck to pay the bills and millions are in the bank. Wish I was in that camp, most employees aren’t. He is accountable for stock performance and should take some ownership.

His response on reassuring employees about the future “by growing revenue solves all problems” is the same as his former response “work harder”.

And happy you invited select employees to your apartment in the city, what are you doing for the rest of the employees, especially those remote? Favoritism displayed…. Sales is always the favorite.

With all the rsu the execs get, it would be a good look to not take a raise and save some cost. Very out of touch.

About 1 year ago exactly someone asked about the stock price and how they were reliant on selling RSU's and asked what they were doing to put the stock back on track and Mike went on the same rant about how you need to work harder and everybody needs to work hard to get the stock price up. Meanwhile he gave himself a raise earlier this year put the filings. Incredibly out of touch.
