Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

#Iwork4Dell

Speaking of rumors, has anyone else heard that recruiters are scouring SM sites like LinkedIn for people who have posted in the past using the #IWork4Dell tags?

It seems that way to me.

@ew it’s “legally required” but Dell is the only company I’ve ever seen to do it. Congress must have passed a Dell act I missed

If you have AI on your resume at Dell or not, you’re good to go. Just put a bunch of AI buzzwords on your resume and claim that you have experience with AI and you’ll get a job no problem.

@bh you do realize that is a legal, mandatory action if you're posting about something Dell related and work at Dell, right? We had training about that being a must to avoid lawsuits.

@e7

You keep telling yourself that. I would not want a 10y-20y line item on my resume for dell.

@dp
I know a lot of former Dell employees that went to work for other employers large and small. I have worked at other Fortune 500s. The idea that companies don't value "Dell" experience is just wrong, especially if you work in supply chain.

Employers want relevant experience. If you can stay near to what you have been doing you will get interviews

Look. No one is rejecting based on dell experience solely
but if you have 10y-20y there it is going to hold you back

But no one. and i mean no one is impressed with your experience at dell.
it carries literally zero value in the job market.

After more than 10 job interviews I had to modify my CV and remove my Dell experience as the feedback I received from employers is that it is irrelevant
Time lost for any career prospect.

Saying recruiters aren't impressed with dell is just rubbish

I cringe when I see that hashtag. Looking back at my experience at Dell in that toxic environment, it's not something to brag about. In the job marketplace, recruiters were not impressed with Dell experience. It was more of a weakness to explain away than a boost to my profile.

Past? Just did a quick search, people are still using this hashtag on LinkedIn or YouTube videos
