Thread regarding Five9 Inc. layoffs

RIPF9

The Indification of a once great company is officially complete with the appointment of new CEO of Indian origin. With no meaningful experience in bringing a public company to new heights, he was hired for reasons that won't help the companies long term valuation.

Man your life boats, the ship is going for its last lunge down.

There are some fools on this board. Any executive will negotiate their compensation package, and accelerated vesting on RSUs is standard practice. This is common across any company that issues RSUs.

The sign-on package compensates for forfeited bonuses, compensation, RSUs, and equity from their previous role.

And if the company does get acquired, guess what…? It’s probably a good thing. Those who are fearful are quite possibly the ones who should move on

With that kind of package, I'd say the majority of the remaining staff's mission in life is to make all of these new and existing executives rich. Very rich, while you will most certainly get shafted.

DON'T BE A SU---R. GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

@et $550K sign-on is head scratching. Does that mean no one wanted the job or is the new guy just a very skilled negotiator?

@b4 there will be a lot of firing as that is the quickest way to cut costs and make the company more profitable for a sale, which the public offer letter hints at being the goal he has. time to start looking for a job.

From the 8-k filing.

-- "The agreement also includes provisions for accelerated vesting in the event of a qualifying termination or change in control."

So if the company gets bought, he can cash out all rsu in a hurry.

@b4 I think it’s fair to say we have some very competent “c-suiters”

Funny that they deleted all the posts here that I talked about the new CEO having served during the purchase of the company by an equity fund group

I'll give the new CEO a chance even though stock market sees him as a nothing burger. He has to be better than the crater MB dug.

Early test will be how fast he fires the nepos and incompetent c-suiters.

The new CEO became the CEO of Nintex in 2021 at the same time that TPG equity group acquired them. Is this a harbinger of things to come for Five9?

@a4 you are 100% right:

• Nintex, where he has been CEO, is a portfolio company in which Thoma Bravo previously held a majority stake and which later received a majority investment from TPG Capital at a valuation reported above 2 billion dollars.[thomabravo +2]
