Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

My entire team is looking for a new job

I'm not exaggerating. Every single person I talked to about this said they were looking. Not everybody is doing it with the same urgency, but all are applying. I don't think the leadership realizes this. I don't think they are aware of what kind of brain drain Crown is facing if something isn't done soon. Or they know and don't care.

When is the next RIF? Elliott has been quiet during the Fiber review or maybe because it’s the holidays.

Exactly. In fact, they are hoping we will leave. -- that much less severance they have to pay when the next RIF comes.

You’re wrong. Leadership knows and doesn’t care at all. In fact, it’s better for the business so they can hire new, much cheaper, labor. They don’t care about you at all.

Then you have my director asking us how to increase our motivation….”what can I do to increase your motivation to keep making Crown a success?”

#smh no one in this company is drinking the koolaid

@btt+1qhyyBXh What’s a thing an employee in fiber can do that no one can do? Asking as a fiber person too. Just because you know things that are result of poor record keeping, job processes or due diligence. That isn’t a competitive advantage in a position. Eventually someone can figure it out.

“You can be replaced by another employee or a contractor”. Yeah, that is exactly why Clown Castle is in the position they are in. Leadership has no respect for the unique knowledge that people bring. They think anyone can do the job. That may be the case in Tower because of the simple business model. Fiber is a different arena. Brain drain for certain! It does not take long for the smart people to figure out when it is time to leave. Many have left voluntarily. Good luck in your search.

Brain drain? At least on the network side, we had no brains to drain. Half of the people in network either came from Google or from a vendor. Not exactly the sharpest tools.

Crown will be fine. Don’t worry about it.

And they should. But hate to break it to you the company will be ok after you leave. You and your team are a tiny cog in a billion company. You can be replaced by another employee or a contractor. They might even do your paper pushing better too.
