Why have we not seen the real reason for the latest layoffs at bp and their cross-town friends at Chevron? That all the cost savings and simplifying is being done by moving jobs from the US and UK eastward?

@es+1jmwhw894 Op is saying the public doesn’t know the layoffs are so they can outsource the jobs, and it’s not just a normal layoff in a cyclical business (which could cause a little outrage). Op wasn’t saying the public doesn’t know layoffs are happening.
There was news about Chevron laying people off in the news last week on KPRC in Houston and on WBRZ in Baton Rouge.
Layoffs are just the nature of O&G. Cyclical.
They have no problem destroying the environment— what makes you think they care about the livelihoods of employees in the US/UK?
This is been public knowledge, from BP themselves, for months now. In the town halls they were clear about layoffs and jobs moving to India and elsewhere, like Poland or somesuch.
They were also clear that the jobs "moving" meant Westerners would lose their jobs, so the functions could move. No one is being asked to move to India.
They are laying off half of uk digital. The jobs are going to India. Same stuff as KL all those years ago. They should have gone to India in the first place but KL was a knees up for many
Where is it in the news that jobs are moving east? I haven’t seen it.
if you know, why don’t you tell us
go read the news lmao
