Got an email earlier this week about Macys unionizing. There’s a website and an IG page. What does everyone think about this?

@eq the bread! Jesus he's so f*cking tone deaf
Sounds like a manager speaking
The website is saying we have mandatory full time RTO with no notice. That’s not true, and also that’s not something that should be taken to a vote of thousands of employees; it’s still not a unilateral decision by one person. We’re now 2-4 days depending on dept, and they gave the 4-days depts 6 months notice. I don’t think that’s helpful to the entire cause to try to fight over something like that. It’s giving gen-z that never worked in an office pre-covid. Not every company needs unions
I’ve learned in my 10 years that this company will do just about anything to deepen the pockets of the CEO and his direct reports. Anyone below, gets the sh-t end of the stick. Even when the company performs and meets or beats sales expectations, still not enough for the money hungry big wigs. No, they rather downsize as much as possible, adding more work to everyone’s already overfilled plate, and give us 3% annual incentives and a pathetic bonus. They spent so much money on renovating office space and there’s still not enough space. They are not invested in their employees. They are invested in their bank accounts and Tony’s $50 bread or whatever the he-l it cost. Now a union? Yeah, that won’t benefit anyone and it will indeed make it more easier to let people go.
As a salesperson working the floor that worked for a company years ago that had a union, I think it's a terrible idea. All the union does is take your money in dues, benefits become more expensive and it's easier to get fired. The union is there to make money, not to protect you.
