Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Notification dates

Not sure how useful this is, but at least it’s not just a rumor—our immediate manager just informed us that we’ll find out between July 7th–9th whether we’ve been impacted or not. I’m in RA4.

I heard they are letting people with IRs go for sure. They have done that in most of the layoffs.

@eq what su-ks about this is that I have a clueless manager rating us. Some valuable people are about to lose their jobs.....

@eq Sad really. A lot of these so called managers have little understanding of what each individual on the team does because they are too busy empire building and a-s licking in the name of self preservation. 🤢

My management is already having meetings and rating employees. Managers are rating employees on how well you are at communication and problem solving, sending it to HR and HR tells them who to cut. It’s not module based, it’s not seniority based and it’s not performance based. It’s essentially how much your boss likes you but ultimately sounds like HR plugs you into an algorithm and spits out an answer.

Take this with a grain of salt, different BU’s are doing things differently. I know some orgs in D1 have already gotten their notifications. Circuit article specifically says “early to mid july” or notifications. My boss said July 7th.

OP says he is in RA4, but he might have just be a lost & bewildered SMG or NEX employee, wandering around.

@aa … the 4th is just a 3 day weekend. There are so many observed holidays that they are bound to be close to at least one of them.

A friend in NEX reached to me and he was notified this Wednesday.

@aa The last ones were done right before Christmas. There isn't a good time to lay people off, but generally speaking right before or right after a holiday is extra cruel.

Enjoy that hot dog and beer on July 4th folks… it’s horrible how they do this right after the holiday and keep everyone stressing. Max pain to each employee per Naga. The cuts shoulda been done in June and spare these poor folks this stress. Shame on you Intel. SHAME ON YOU!!
