Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Hock Tan's response to delay. Don't celebrate too early VMWare employees :)

Hock Tan believes the delay in the closure of its $69 billion purchase of VMware (NYSE:VMW) is due to bureaucratic reasons, not political issues. VMware (VMW) fell 1.6%, while Broadcom rose 1.3%.
"Mr. Tan does believe it's bureaucratic and not political," CNBC's David Faber said on the business network on Monday.
The report comes after Broadcom (AVGO) earlier said it expected its acquisition of VMware (VMW) to close soon, before the expiration of their merger agreement. The company had previously said the deal would close on Monday.
Soon means in the "next few days," according to Faber.
Developing story ...

"The transaction will close soon, but in any event prior to the expiration of their merger agreement"

Hock Tan definition of soon: next few days :)

All talk and no bark. CEOs need to be humbled from time to time. Some need it more than once to remember that without power, your money is worthless.

Blackrock and vanguard only care about taking control of hocks company. That's how the shareholding works today. They loan out taking more control of the company until hock has no more equity in it and kick him out.

What else would he say? He cannot blame China politically for the failure to close today. That would make China even angrier.

It is unfortunate the Mr tan does not live in the world of reality and the rest of us do. There us a divine force intervening here that is beyond his control and what ever he or his representatives say, today we can be assured that the opposite is true.
