I read an interesting article for which the topic was also discussed on the news, about how AI decision making either rivals or exceeds consultant recommendations and implementations. The decisions cranked out are either equal to or better than most MD’s or CEO’s.
The first thing that came to mind was the Boston Consultant Group, a group for which Citi has leaned on quite heavily. This also affects them or any consulting actually. We live in interesting times.

@em Let the regulators come and take a look at what the solution has become - a mountain of paperwork and useless processes that's time consuming, moves as fast as an arthritic turtle, impossible to change anything, forums for MD's to throw their weight around without knowing a thing about data...oh and the actual work? What's that..???? Paper pushing rocks...work can wait awhile or a few yhears

Citi has a loooong way to go before AI can be leveraged in a meaningful way. The data and architecture is an absolute train wreck as evidenced by the consent order we are under. A consent order that likely won't be satisfied for a decade (just like KYC). Citi's AI talk is just that. Jargon to pump the stock.

I am not yet fully sold on AI, but I do think that most of management consultancy will ultimately be replaced by AI. No one will want to pay millions of dollars for a packaged version of reused slides from another client, industry trends or studies etc.. AI can summarize all of this
But this won't happen overnight. AI needs top notch data to be trained on
