Decisions have already been made. Just prepare your personal finances and be applying elsewhere proactively. Control what you can control, accept what you can’t.
This is very much true. People who are constantly worrying about their name being on the list instead of doing something that will help them in case it actually happens are doing themselves a disservice. Help yourselves, folks, because nobody will do it for you.
If you recently were given new tasks and asked train someone taking over your "old" duties. You are on the layoff list. Does " can you make a checklist for...." sound familiar? Layoff. Take your vacation, max out your PBA, get your teeth and eyes checked.... don't download any data. By now IT has loaded your system to track any data downloads to hdd, usb, email, etc. That will give them cause to nullify your severance.

and until you are VP - you'd not see it in your contract . Ex-EMC contracts were replaced with Dell ones which do not have it.
