Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Waiting for my 401k to vest, joining here was the biggest mistake in my career

Everyone is beyond checked out and half asleep during the day. Im pretty sure most people do maybe 5 hours of work a week

I dont even bother showing up to the meetings and seeing the karens yap for 30 minutes while pretending to do any actual work.

I don't respect one person here to even look at as a mentor. My skills have literally rotted working here.

I felt like I was downgraded at Ford with my skills, people who did the same thing for 4 years claimed all seniority, some of them still working on the same thing for more than 10 years in their 50s. When it comes to developing any new , they are brain dead, but the management likes them because they keep the Matlab models and specifications from people who left the company. A big oversight in the management who is doing the actual work, and who is just passing the legacy of 90s. I guess this is what they like to do to keep it up. I am in some way happy to get laid off. I get a chance to find a better paying job that I like. Even during the recession, I will manage it. My replacement will cost Ford over 200k at least. This is what the management wanted, with their technical experts. I don't believe that some of them even close to be called as technical experts, to be honest. At Ford, everything was possible from gaps in department and suffering - those who were laid off.

@ej and friends,

OP has a solution, they just have to wait for their 401k to vest.

To the people proposing solutions: This isn't what the OP wants. OP is here to state that they are unhappy and complain, not to come to a solution for their despair. Logic isn't welcome here..lol

In the words of Wyatt Earp (Tombstone): " You going to do something about it, or are you going to stand there and bleed?"

You can say goodbye to your 401(k) if there is a Recession.

That's great man. Why are you here telling us about it? Want some kind of biscuit or a cookie? Like @ac said...if you can't muster the fortitude to make your own way, then just deal with it I guess.

If you aren’t capable of doing your own thing, you will forever be at the mercy of others. Quit and start your own business otherwise shut up about someone paying you to do their work.
