@pf brilliant immigrants coming here on H1-B visas don’t steal jobs, they create jobs - it has been proven over and over again. It is not a zero sum game.

I'd rather give a chance to someone here.

Companies will then fall back on where in the world can they find the best and brightest. I know that this has been done for a long time but it feels different this time. Our population needs these jobs. If you are truly competing with the world, be prepared for a good many citizens to be unemployed.

I agree. They won't get rid of or curtail the H1B visas. You have to wonder what will the US look like if we continue down this path. Between H1B, offshoring and AI, we don't stand a chance.

Let’s see if they do anything about getting rid of H1B visas. That’s the place to start. If they do that you’ll know they’re for real about keeping jobs in America. (Hint: They are not and won’t touch H1B because that’s how US companies get cheap labor)

Only people stupid enough trust M Dell are stupid enough to trust the bloated Orange Sloth. He thinks calling it “genius” vs “artificial intelligence” matters? But is trying to discourage the best and brightest Asian engineers from coming to the U.S.? The U.S. already dominates AI thanks to those people.

If you really listen to JD Vance's video, you will see that he isn't really condemning the practice of bringing in foreign workers. Everyone wants the best worker but if you are going to lay off people then get the best at a lower cost, what is that doing for the US. This has been going on for decades. The only way to score the administration is to see what happens at the end of the four year term. Empty comments ain't going to cut it.

@eg jobs will never come back to US. That's just a fact. USSA is lost so is Dell and many other US IT companies that are laying off en mass.

The US President can't tell any company what to do. But, he can make it difficult for these companies to do business in the US if they don't follow his suggestions.

JD Vance's comments yesterday about firing 9000 people then the same company looking for oversea visas doesn't make sense to him. It's not a strong repudiation so I don't know if the administration will try and stop this.
