Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Warning to those who are ISP.

Posted by @cy+1jzp3pe5c, and this is true info.

Anyone who has been ISP may not need to worry about idling in the cafe surfing the internet, but IT and HR will go after you if you mess with your emails or files.

Delete nothing and don't use a flash drive or anything other than email to transfer emails or files to your personal account, or risk being summarily terminated with no package.

All emails are checked for IP and will be rejected if they contain any, but that might also get you in trouble so be careful with that.

Plenty of cases in the past where people thought they were helping by deleting old emails and files, only to be walked, and lose their severance in the process.

This is not trolling, but simply what IT and HR do during these worker-fun events.

@em Anything related to your dismissal is perfectly fine to email to your home PC.

Be careful about email but that is the only approved way to move info.

As OP stated, just don't clean up your PC or Outlook. It gets auto deleted eventually anyway.

It's a Legal thing, which is why they have to terminate you if you wipe out emails or data, so they can argue in court that they took action on something that may be needed for some lawsuit.

But I agree that it comes across as just trying to take your severance package.

@ek I'm not saying to steal IP. I'm saying whatever emails may be relevant to you being laid off. I'm talking about HR issues and what management may have sent you. You could bring a lawsuit depending on what evidence you have (ie emails/etc).

@ej No need to take pictures unless you are trying to steal IP.

There is a whole prison wing of ex Intel employees who thought they would make some easy money stealing IP, some of them turned in by their next potential employer.

@eg IT advises using Outlook to send any emails or personal files to your home computer.

All emails are scanned for IP and that is the only approved way to send anything outside the network.

You can look this up on the IT website.

Certainly don't go by anything you read on this troll site, about anything.

If you're worried about outlook emails, just take a picture of each email you want to save using your personal cell phone. I'm sure it won't take up too much memory unless you are extremely paranoid!

@aa Delete all your Outlook, if you want to have a meeting with IT.

It's against company policy and they have repeatedly terminated people who thought they were just cleaning up their Outlook.

On your work PC, there is nothing personal. It all belongs to Intel.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Please pass this info around.

Every season of the Hunger Games, the HR/IT team snags about a person per day for various violations.

The only difference it makes is that they lose the separation package, so hard to see it as anything but a cost savings effort.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have a quota to fill.

True, their na-i's about this stuff. Their cybersecurity team is a bunch of jarheads and nerds on power trips.

USB stick is blocked, but if your router has a USB port, you can transfer via WiFi, but Crowdstrike software may detect that and report it to IT. Do it at your own risk. Good luck. Hopefully there are some whistleblowers uncovering the Capitalist failures at Intel.

If you get invited to a meeting with IT, expect to have about 5 minutes to prove they should not walk you on the spot.

HR and Legal will be there too, and it is possible that you'll find a security guard waiting nearby.

It's all fun and games till you get bounced out like some drunk at a strip club.
