I used to feel better when Cronkite lied. Consider: they needed two News reichchancellors to steer the ship, when Susan Zirinsky used to work from dawn past dusk with better ratings and content. That's how you know things are on the slope. I think the Charlie Rose cinchless bathrobe and the Fager Arm were the final nail in the coffin.
I was never pressured to hire diverse folks. With that being said, hr is really bad at finding candidates. If the candidates are bad they will just send you the diverse bad ones and less of the white ones. LGBTQ candidates won’t usually identify so it’ very much comes down to race which is sad.
Hmm but what if the sale is closed b4 the plannned layoffs? It might be way more or just suspended until new guys assess right?
Almost nobody gets their news from tv anymore so this crying is all a joke. Trump/fcc don’t control the internet. CBS was too woke so hard to feel sorry. News doesn’t make u money unless you’re fox. Lots of news people everywhere are gonna get fired because their salaries don’t match the ad revenue
@xt Two senior level executives one of whom has close contacts in HR. My boss is high up and told me they "heard" layoffs in September.
The dates always mentioned here have always been accurate so far. Glad for that, it feels better than getting caught off guard.
@eg curious to know did you have a source in HR, maybe this came from someone you report to, or is this from the gossip train?
If the news can’t lie to us how will ever know what we are told to believe?
I've been told by several individuals there is one more round of layoffs coming before the merger. Scheduled for September (post-VMA's) with possible dates of 9/16 or 9/18.
Assuming the merger goes through then we have the post-consolidation wave of layoffs. I was also told targeted areas have been identified but no one wants to confirm.
An older post stated the SD layoffs would be 60-90 days after they assumed control and areas were identified.
anyone know what SD plans are - besides the 2 billion in cuts they have spoke about were the last cuts part of that - are cuts inclusive of selling some parts of the company?
someone said fall for the next phase - have those names been identified already ? anyone hear anything about this i know there is a poster here that has been typically correct on these items
Can't help but think the last round of layoffs was due to Felon47's frivolous lawsuit. Next round will be Skydance.
@aq lol. What are you smoking?
Has anyone noticed that comments on Deadline and Variety related to CM and any of the other CEOs get deleted? It appears as though the Pep Boys press team is working tirelessly to safeguard them. Again.
16 Million + more layoffs b/c it will no doubt be passed on to the people
It’s a ridiculous lawsuit but also a long overdue reaction to years of coordinated false and deceptive reporting and censorship. Activist media and tech platforms stole the 2020 election through mass coordinated censorship and disinformation. And they almost did it again in 2024.
