Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Sad News To Report

I just learned a former colleague that was let go last December after a long time with the company ended themself last week. His family said he really struggled with what happened and couldn’t move on. It’s just horrible what this company has done.

@aa many companies do see a benefit to offering an EAP to their employees, and bet you didn’t know that some companies even allow employees to continue to use the EAP during severance! Do you know how long it takes to even get a first appointment - many mental health providers have a 1-2 month wait for new clients.

I remember having read the post where they mentioned mental struggle after lay off.
May his soul rest in peace.

@ee

This is a gross post. I too have known the person involved. Worked together for five years. But nobody should publish a name here to appease some conspiracy theorist. Imagine how the family would feel.

Be better Brian!

I can believe this, and my heart breaks for his family. After my own layoff from Cargill, I also went through a severe depression and a mental breakdown. The way these layoffs have been handled has had a devastating impact on people’s lives, and it’s something that often gets ignored or swept under the rug. This is not just about jobs being cut — it’s about real people and real suffering.

I feel like this isn’t true. Name the person if it is. Rage baiting

Nobody is guaranteed a job for life. If you can't handle it, it's nobody's fault but your own.

Yes, getting laid off su-ks and companies do it far too quickly and easily, but they are not responsible for anyone else's coping mechanisms.

Reach out. Talk to someone. Get help in any way you can.
