Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Who wants to predict the date we go below 100 fls?

Stores are closing fast
How long before we go below 100 FLS left?

We're under 100 now. We got there Friday with the closing of the South Portland, Maine, Sears store.

There are now 65 remaining, non-liquidating full-line Sears stores (assuming that Union Gap, WA eventually reopens), and 34 remaining, non-liquidating Kmarts. Total is 99.

This total omits the three Home & Life stores, the four Appliance & Mattress stores, and Naranjito, PR.

At this point I estimate that there are no more than 68 full-line non-liquidating Sears stores – and I'm counting as liquidating only those stores that have been officially announced as such (e.g. on jobs.sears.com). Add that to 34 Kmarts, and the total is 102. Three more announced closings, and we'll be below 100.

80 sears plus 35 Kmart equals 115 fls
So not below 100 yet

80 sears plus 35 Kmart is 115 store
FYI For those of you who are saying we are already below 100 fls stores
Not yet
I predict by the end of July

79, now that Yuba City Sears has been officially listed as closing on the jobs.sears.com site.

Or really 71, since eight of the stores are not truly full-line (appliances and mattresses only, or home & life)

I thought I already posted something like this here, but it got deleted?

That ship has sailed unless you include hometown stores

I think we are down to 73 FLS Sears. I guess if you count the 34 Kmarts remaining that gives us over 100.

Besides the 8 small-format locations, these stores are either not listed on the Sears.com store locator (therefore not reopened), or are listed with strange hours (which may be inaccurate):

Hayward, CA - open Fridays and Saturdays only?
Salinas, CA - open Fridays and Saturdays only? (a Seritage store)

Brooklyn, NY - not reopened
Massapequa, NY - closed on Thursdays?
Newburgh, NY - closed on Thursdays?
White Plains, NY - closed on Thursdays?

Tukwila, WA - closed on Thursdays?
Union Gap, WA - not reopened

And of those remaining 80 stores, 8 of them are not full-line, and it's not clear that most of them have reopened or will fully reopen.

Honolulu, Hawaii (Appliance & Mattress) - reopened

Anchorage, Alaska (Home & Life) - open Saturdays only?
Lafayette, Louisiana (Home & Life) - open Saturdays only?

Fort Collins, Colorado (Appliance) - NOT reopened
Overland Park, Kansas (Home & Life) - NOT reopened
Camp Hill, Pennsylvaina (Appliance & Mattress) - NOT reopened

Pharr, Texas (Appliance & Mattress) - NOT reopened

Naranjito, Puerto Rico - included in reopening list, but not in Store Locator. Does this store actually still exist?

Take these out, and you're left with at most 72 full-line Sears stores (and 34 Kmarts)

@edy+15xDkhDk That ship has sailed very long ago. There's no saving Sears.

There are at most 89 Sears stores still operating, and 9 have been announced as closing.
