Hello guys, after the RTO thing, is there anyone who opted for remote and still remote to this day ? and how's the relationship between you and the manager after you opted for remote ?

@ed I disagree. It may not have been the largest factor, but according to every study I’ve seen - people are more productive when wfh.
@a4 same here
@ar+1jz35v6ny there were good results in covid because the world was trapped in their homes and went on a buying spree. Same thing happened with government spending. The free money supply has been turned off for everyone. WFH had nothing to do with those results
Half my team is remote because we’re outside commuting distance. There is definitely now an inner circle in our team of those who are all in the same office as our manager, but what do you expect when there is nothing in terms of promotion or new opportunity within the company for remotes? Remotes out in less effort because there’s no hope of getting anything in return, we do enough to keep our jobs and drive value, but going above and beyond is a job for those in office.
@a8 I'm op first of all thank you for your honest answer, and it might sound as an odd question but in the FAQs there' a question relative to is someone continue to wrok remotely, GOD why MD wants to make it as hard as possible for people ? @MD if you see this comment , you're doing it wrong, give REAL flexibility to the people who works for you and expect good results ( COVID period is an exemple )
This is an odd question. From an HR perspective, there is no more “opting” for remote. You could still be remote for a number of reasons (outside the range of RTO impact, health-related accommodation…) but the pre-RTO verbiage of “opting” between available choices no longer applies. I may be misunderstanding your question?
Anyway. Still remote due to a health-related accommodation. My manager and I are fine. Our team is global anyway, and the RTO reversal has only made it more difficult for impacted team members to do their jobs efficiently. (Thanks Jeff!)
only one on the team who opted for remote.
I was hoping for a ticket out and got it. so it worked out as expected.
I dont think they want remote workers to be honest. So its just a matter of time for all remotes.
@OP I'm still fully remote. No local office stayed open after covid. My manager is fully supportive as our team sits in different offices globally
