Middle management

Is there any truth or evidence of management bloat removal? Or was it just a lie by LBT

In early 2021, a TD organization had 200 people. In mid 2021, it is merged with ATTD and become 1000 large. In 2025, it is 3000 now.

Experienced and skilled engineers from the original 200 have left. Only fewer than 100 original people are actually doing work now. The 3000 people now form an enormous organization with many sub-groups, including finance group, people’s group, strategic, enabling, business group, central system, blabla… hundreds of managers are created, way more than engineers doing work.

@ed promote a manager to director no questions asked because everyone benefits. VP maybe gets a raise or closer to SVP. Then to justify director you hire more managers who do nothing but move status updates. Story sounds familiar

How we are bloated?
In 2015, one manager oversaw 9 engineers for a client project.
Now, in 2025, a similar project for the same client has 36 engineers reporting through 4 middle managers to that original manager(director now).
Ironically, only the original 9 engineers are still delivering, while the middle managers seem to add confusion, politics, and favoritism by improperly passing messages.

Post the announcement, now those people managers are made to associate with possible engineering domains. This system can never be changed.

2 quarters is half of a half pound, they must be snorting that China White

Funny @dq I think you know what I meant but given you may be an Intel employee or a troll i can't be sure. 2 quarters = Q3 and Q4

@dp+1 Not sure giving them 50 cents is going to provide enough motivation.

This isn't 1931 any more.

I really hope they cut thru the management. It would be fun to see the managers to be ICs and do real work. Give them 2 quarters and see how they perform before laying them off

The managers have re-branded themselves to hide. To Tan, he believes old managers are gone, but they have happily secured spots to continue to parasite for many more years.

Intel is one more steps closer to final failure.

Lots of bloat. Unfortunately half of TBA bloat was already shifted to new roles so no matter what is done this go round there will still be plenty of deadweight making others lives miserable hiding in plain site.

BU's flattened their orgs by moving middle-managers out of the org tree and making them dotted-line reporting, effectively hiding them. It's all theater. Tan knows this and has approved these moves. He's a joke.

Say, I heard this one about "If Chuck Norris were President, taxes would get so depressed they would cut themselves". I'm sure that's how the LBT middle management cuts work too.

More and more managers after the re-org. They shuffle to new group or change the name of the group. So all become new and no manager will get cut.

I don’t believe OP could handle the truth or evidence of it.
