I attended a meeting where my multi skip level manager spoke. The question came up over salary increases or the lack thereof. They mentioned that its been brought up to the powers that be that we are not competitive in pay as a bank in comparison to other large companies, is there any chance of increasing the salary. The answer was, and I quote, “there’s no interest in doing that”. Then later they said “not to focus on how much more money you could make by going elsewhere, just be happy where you are with what you have.”
That’s so easy to say when you already live in the biggest house in the neighborhood and drive the latest car and kids to go the best schools. Let me try what he said though, I’ll just tell the bank that I’d like to pay my mortgage with “company culture” instead of cash. Let’s see how well that works out.
