Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

What are my options?

WIthout doxxing myself, the gist of the story is that after a reorg, the incoming management are power grabbing shitstains that blatantly grabbed the work that was done, virtually demoted a few people by bringing in their own people (the demotion was by way of reduced responsibilities and effective sidelining). Some emails with leader(s) exist that can clearly be construed as retaliation for speaking up in the face of wrong plus witnesses. Though not all them might speak up fearing for their career at Citi but one or two definitely will. Power grab was repeated without repurcussions

I know HR is useless and will either protect and/or try to brush it under the carpet. Don't want to pursue outside legal options. What other inside resources exist? Obviously, the shitstains don't care about any consequences as they have gotten away with this before.

@ha I wasn’t disagreeing with you, since some downvoted my question. I also see the nepotism and guess was naive to believe it could be so prevalent in a big bank.

I hear you. It is a very toxic environment. My boss is so full of himself that I'm surprised his head fits on the Zoom screen. Lol. I don't and will not join the club either because those backstabbing idea stealers are not my cup of tea. However, I do not let on that I know what's going on the majority of the time. I do surprise them every now and then calling them on their sh!+.

@a8

Yes. Agree. The OP should do unto others what they've done into him.

@eb Oh I thought Ethics was always part of HR. Good suggestion, thanks. I don't care about anonymous. I ain't scared of these sc-mbugs. I will take names

The trick is to report them to the Ethics Hotline. HR is there to protect the company not employees. Ethics, however, reports to Legal. Go that route. You can probably even report it anonymously.

@a8 Their achilles heal is known to me. Lack of knowledge as they got stuff handed to them free of cost. But, they don't seem to care. They think thney can deliver it all when none of them or their nepotistic talent has the complete picture.

@a2 Instead of playing defence, you need to start playing offence.

Think of $hitibank as a game as in Hunger Games. Or even Football, Baseball, Tennis, etc..

Find ways and methods to turn the beat around and use their supposed and perceived advantages as weaknesses. Everyone, everyone has an Achilles Heel. Everyone has weaknesses or shortcomings.

Every tool can be a we@pon, and every we@pon can be a tool.

Leave as fast as possible. Similar thing happened in my group. Either keep your head down and be a drone till you can exit or bail now. This is the only company I’ve ever worked at that’s held layoffs over employees heads for 2 years. Place is the most toxic environment I’ve ever had the displeasure of working at. Retiring soon.

@a1 Difficult in this market though not for any lack of trying. Preference was to move away elsewhere and start a new life but isn't happening at least for now. Burns me to cinders to have to continue to work for these kind of shitstains and a company that enables this kind of toxic behavior. I cannot join their club because toxicity, nepotism, blatant lies, two faced and a few other such behaviours are not 'skills' I consider worth learning. But hands are tied till I can get something else. In the meanwhile, just watch them execute the playbook multiple times and get away with it?

Join their club or find a different place to work. The goal is to extract as much money from the company as possible.
