calm before the next storm...
It's coming...
I know exactly which manager you are referring to and your description is dead on. And I agree MDSUKS is appropriate!
Most people are not working that hard. Maybe 2 days of real work.
The CEO, all the Senior Management and Customers are beginning to understand that when you rely on offshore Dev, ALL issues, even your hair on fire, has to happen now, require a 24-48 hour turn around. Didn't make your release? Or maybe the release was made, but Sh-ts Still Busted? So so sad. Just blame offshore. That song is going to go on repeat for a looooong time to come.
Everyone practice with me "We have Offshore looking into this issue, we should have more information tomorrow."
yup - 40 hour week completed in 4 days but still need to work tomorrow!
Yes too busy to respond. Besides, I'll be back at the end of the year when the sh@t hits the fan.
I spoke with someone who is 14 months from retirement but they're so stressed out not sure if they'll make it that long.
I’m 61 so full retirement age is 66 1/2.
Most people I know are busy trying to find employment elsewhere. Unless you’re a few years from retirement you’d be crazy to stick around.
Everyone is busy doing the work of 3 or 4. Well with the exception of the manager that floats in at 10. Has a leisurely breakfast in the cafe. Returns to the floor and plays Freecell until its time for their 2 hour lunch and then is the first in the group to leave at the end of their day.
