Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

The leadership can't act surprised things are breaking

You can't slash decades of collective knowledge for a small budget win over and over again and then look confused when everything starts falling apart. That isn't bad luck, that is the direct result of your own choice.

We were recently asked to fill out a spreadsheet listing all of the experts past and present with an admission that a metric tonne of institutional knowledge has either left or is concentrated in a few people, which it 100% is for us.

Curious if this is to retain people, or just see who’s brain they want to pick to sic the AI monster of them for training.

Leadership is bringing in all their buddies and the stock keeps dipping!

All I see is fancy fintech and corporate word salad from pretentious leaders and no execution of real solutions.

It’s been the same sinking titanic since I’ve been here.

@at The SLT chose to have boot licking snakes as their reports. The SVP+ level has mastered corporate politics while being inept about their actual products.

In their defense, many of their reports are too afraid to tell them the truth about anything so it might be a legitimate surprise to them.

People with no real vision, strategy, creativity, leadership or even basic people skills or a plan are given these high paying jobs that go in for years with no success. I feel like a regular Project manager would do a better job of leading than the so called leadership. Yet we keep seeing more and more senior leaders that are just good on paper and hide behind in their glass offices with zero interaction with the outside or real world for that matter.
