Well I’ll tell you what, I can hardly keep from grinnin’ ear to ear thinkin’ about this next round of layoffs. There’s just somethin’ downright satisfying about lightening the load, like clearing out a dusty old barn. These outside contractors I’ve got running the place now, they sidle up and tell me what a fine job I’m doing, and Lord, it just warms me right up inside. Every time I send another batch of folks packin’, I can feel the company getting leaner and meaner. It’s not mean-spirited, bless their hearts. It’s just good business.

PP insists the layoffs “aren’t about money,” yet somehow has time for dozens of hour long meetings with all of the associates. The cost of those meetings alone could’ve covered a few salaries, but sure it’s not about the money.
