Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Is this confirmed?

Starts end of Q1 2026. 4 days in office. WFH day is your choice. Exceptions will be gone unless you live >50 miles from an office.

what about areas where they closed offices or reduced office capacity and gave workers tied to those offices WFH?

STL will close in 2-4 years. Natural attrition (not layoffs). Remaining staff will be WFH after closure - but WFH is not transferable to future roles. So keep the job, relocate, or quit.

@ea where did you hear that they were eventually going to shut down Saint Louis? How reliable is this?

True and those over 50 miles can only apply for new roles if they are willing to move closer to a location. Plus, you can’t move further out to get that exception - you are either grandfathered effective whatever date they decide or not. At least that is the rumor I heard.

I know they are trying to eventually close St. Louis - not sure what that means for us over time or for those located in other offices closed.

If you're a PL and your directs are forced into the office, you should be required to come into the office to know what it feels like too. If coming into the office is so beneficial then only people who are in office should be eligible for promotions. Other companies do this.
