Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Praying for those who will affected on Nov 13

Unfortunately, 30k employees just lost their job today at Amazon. We don't know how many Cisco will let go next month due to AI but definitely less than 7k globally.

You won't be laid off until you train your AI agent and/or your replacement in Bangalore.

Cisco doesn't care about holidays, Santa or Jesus. LRs hit several times a year with random timing. That's been a constant factor for a decade.

I know the messaging from ELT is that everything is booming Cisco & no worries ahead. But, I have gnawing feeling that regardless Cisco will follow the layoff trends escalating right now & announced a headcount before next year… Praying that it ain’t so, crossing my fingers before the holidays season.

@am you clearly aren’t working at Cisco in Nov 2022 after a “record quarter”. Get your head out of the sand

I call BS, major layoffs are mostly in August or February.

happens every year right before the holidays, since no one would be working, lost of productivity but still getting paid

Cisco isn't laying anyone of "due to AI"

Yeah, just heard it as well... why layoff before Holiday? I understand a startup that’s going bankrupt wants to layoff before Christmas. Why does a multi billion dollar company layoff people during holiday season?
Couldn’t Cisco have waited another 2 months to announce the layoffs?
Where will they find jobs during Christmas? Heartless ELT souls
