@qm if you'd spend less time boot licking and more time fixing issues maybe we'd have released the totally awesome "gen 2" vehicles you've been promising for the past 3 years instead of cancelling them all.

  • The Ford+ transformation plan. This is huge and still on-going if you pay attention
  • The formation of Model e and Ford Pro
  • Weathering the company through a global pandemic
  • Opening of the new World Headquarters
  • Ford is leading the industry with the modern way we work in the office post pandemic
  • Growing the leadership team with the best high-tech talent from Silicon Valley

Need I go on?

@ec you want to bet? Can you tell us and be truthful now. What actual accomplishment has JF done for Ford. Something he can hang his hat on. Again be truthful do not call out things where all he did was throw paint on a vehicle after the fact. Then you have DF.. This one is a real puzzle and red flag. look at his LINKEDIN profile he tends to move around after three years. So has this guy ever been on a car or truck program from start to finish?
Third I heard all this so called talk about a new and improved way of building cars from the so called "SKUNK WORK. "I CALL THAT BS"...
Some of us remember the furniture guy (aka ART VAN) make a public statement about all these savings of up to 33% in cosT.. lOOK HOW THAT TURNED OUT!!!!!!!!!!

So until your truly deliver on something we suggest that you keep quiet and not embarrass yourself ..

Ford never addressed the issues with LL4s who got promoted on the failed FNV4. Many of them are scAmbags. Speaking softly. They are the ones who never had clear PR goals from 2021-2025.

@ec FNV4 failure, mark my words oh that is right it already happened.

Chinese have already won the EV race and they are destroying Apple market share. Give yourselves a big pat on the back!

You will be eating your words when the real DF developed/led Model e products and services hit the market and are runaway successes. Just wait, mark my words.

Everyone with automotive experience - full product cycle experience, and supplier experience, know that f ..c.k Ing Apple phones are not the same as vehicles. This is totally different industry. There is no relationship whatsoever. Now the id- it's running the last circus show before another great recession and trying to full you into skunkcare products. Boot them all out !!!

@d3 CE1 is full of Apple Cobblers. High % of them are real a-holes and difficult to work with and think their s h i t don't stink. DF made it his mission to hire as many as possible thrusting them into senior and LL3 roles and above with no experience whatsoever in Automotive. When Apple SPG cancelled the doom to fail car project, that pace continued and you could see some managers salivating over getting interviews started.

Peter Stern was DF's first nepotism failure. The bias towards Apple Cobblers is present in many teams and playing favourites is common. Many are not well liked and like Stern some even left after a year.

@av well that maybe so in your mind. but there is definitely no talent at the BOD or Senior management. Just look how how your so called genius are really paying the dividends! Also there was a VERY high level paper published in 2017. In that paper it clearly outlined that the NA car market was not ready for Evs. It highlighted range/charge times/ grid system as the main drivers. But Mr. Jim (I am the smartest guy in the room) Farley / Hackett (Art Van) and Bill Ford ignored that paper.
A "TRUE LEADER" would have pointed that out to the clueless leadership at Ford this was not viable right now. Then you have the professional career Hopper yes Doug Fields.. So called Silicon Valley guru.. Yeah it only took him over 4yrs to figure out FNV4 was not going to work. Doug stand up take a bow as this years DARWIN award winner. Please do...

Skunkworks project doesn't work in automotive. Apple did that. I knew people that got hired into that team, where is the team now? Gone. Billions burned. You cannot develop a consumer product that is highly regulated that you want to sell all over the world. Ignorance is bliss. It can work in defense industry because it's tightly controlled and only one or two customers. Xiaomi is showing how it can be done but all we hear is talk and no ba--s to make action. Talent is useless if there's no strategy. Just look at all the great athletes in bad teams, they never win championships.

LOL, where to begin? The only companies that fire experience and seek "new" are just companies in trouble looking to sanitize cutting costs and trying to keep the board room from firing the so called "executives". This recipe will not bake a good cake, and that will be the next reality. Cr-ppy cakes don't sell well, and then you get to rotate down the drain a few more revs - until there's nothing left but the gurgle of history. Meh, been done before the biz is littered with logos that are now museum pieces.

@a8 "Didn't we hire...?" Nope. Your corporate dyslexia is Ford's demise once again. HR needs to stop retaining A$$ Kissers and replace them with A$$ KICKERS. My bad.Positve results do not matter art Ford. Only brown-nosing does. My apologies. Got a dab of shoe polish I can have. I just sent in my resume.

So if all new talent was needed, why did the all new talent have half of Dearborn under an NDA doing work for them?

New talent is not the issue. Not having practical, intelligent and logical talent with integrity and COURAGE in key/top management positions is the issue.

Another BS from Doggy to keep his job giving hopes to save the world. He couldn't manage FNV4 sitting in California. Now white slippers in California will fix everything. LOL
The guy is afraid to show up in Detroit. How many people he laid off already. The company is finished. There were like him before with Racoon, Cat and Sckunkworks.

I don’t understand what’s going wrong.

I thought the Model e division was supposed to work like a startup, fast-moving and innovative.

Didn’t we hire people with startup mindsets who are driven and act with urgency?
Why don’t we let them handle recruitment, since they’ll attract others like them?
It shouldn’t matter if other departments end up managing those new hires, the priority is getting those people into the company, not letting them out.

"Ford did precisely that by creating its new “skunkworks” advanced EV team a few years ago, while bringing in former Apple and Tesla exec Doug Field to help staff the new outfit"

This^^^^

Is how we win.
