7.15 More Layoffs??

I am trying to find out more information about more layoffs because I noticed my recruiter's email isnt working and I am supposed to have a final interview this week. Is this company having more layoffs, should I avoid?

I’ve been in technology since late last year. There were layoffs and restructuring then (2024) but I have not seen any IT/Dev layoffs in my tenure.

The company is in the verge of bankruptcy based on Moody’s recent credit rating downgrade. Private equity-backed healthcare staffing agencies all over the country continue to file for bankruptcy. You can reach your own conclusion on the status of the company and longterm employment based on a simple Google search. The outlook for Medical Solutions is not good.

@db When systems were down they'd email entire files with medical records and all lol! To be fair, not a unique problem to MedSol, but when your systems don't work and you expect people to make deadlines, they're gonna do things the wrong way.

Opening your mouth there was a death sentence, but it's better to be out of there. I'm lucky I was first round...found my current job three weeks later, and I'm doing things I love, making more money, and not walking on eggshells everyday.

MSG is a sinking ship. The majority of us are trying to get out.

Personally, I would avoid a company that is continually laying people off and moving jobs out of the US.

@e7 as OP I appreciate this response. the recruiter that was laid off was the one that hires the healthcare recruiters and from what i can tell other corporate roles were laid off in the last few months with billing and other stuff. as a candidate interviewing to be an employee, that can definitely be concerning coming in and leaving my current job for something that could be a sinking ship.

@db Well, I guess the @ labeled you accurately and that’s unfortunate. We all know what DB stands for huh? As you seen from my previous 2 comments I can be very empathetic and cordial. However, for you to post the statement you did is just insane. Every staffing agency utilizing travelers socials and date of births for submittals to ensure accuracy and that they aren’t banned in systems/facilities etc. Also, you know that we are protected extremely well by firewalls and VPNs so for you to even sit there and put something so d-mb in the air like this is ridiculous when yes a lot going on is just pure asinine but this isn’t even something you should be making clinicians fear.

Now on for the grand finale and my favorite part of this comment I am leaving. Please, do not use being terminated for not meeting company minimums as a reason to slander or scare clinicians when there are still employees here that have pure genuine hearts and intentions and take pride in their work. There have been INCREDIBLE, REMARKABLE, HARD WORKING people who got laid off that didn’t deserve to be, so please don’t group your lack of ability to do your job with what has happened to them. It’s a huge difference. Recruiters haven’t been laid off, if they got “let go” it was based upon their performance and nothing less than that. The market is crucial on all sides and right now what it takes to make it is HEART and HUMANITY. Either you got it or you don’t.

@OP Hey healthcare workers.....did you know Medical Solutions emails a copy of your social security number and birthday on a regular basis? It's part of the standard submittal process. How do you feel about your personal information being emailed through outlook and NOT a secure system? Have fun having your identity stolen, because a majority of their IT department was laid off pff and they depend on people in the Philippines for IT who have nooooo idea what they're doing.

Sincerely,
A reruiter that was let go for speaking out about unethical practices.

@am I fully agree! There could be so much more empathy! I read the message as they were a traveler/clinician and still wanted to attempt to deliver a positive impact if we could. I do agree with what you said now fully understanding their message as well. I would steer clear. I 100% agree with your message. The only empathy offered is what we have for one another and our clinicians at this point.

@ah I was responding to the last sentence they asked on if they should avoid the company. I wouldn't want to send them into a situation/company that all of us are aware is going downhill with no job security or empathy from within the company. I in good conscience couldn't tell them to proceed forward. I was just wanting them to know of the facts from within the company and letting them decide how they want to proceed.

I appreciate your empathy and validation. The way you responded to my statement was respectful. That's greatly appreciated considering how we've been treated by the company.

@a5 I get how you feel, 100%. Valid, you are seen, you are heard, you are validated. However, instead of saying what you did just now, how about you ask this person who their recruiter is and how we can help. If you came from Aureus or if you didn’t, WE still have one thing in OUR hearts and that’s HUMANITY.

I don't think they just turn off a recruiter's email. Try calling the home office phone number and ask to speak to your recruiter's manager.

They haven't stopped doing layoffs since October 2023. Definitely would recommend staying away from the company as job security is non-existent. I'm sorry that your recruiter's email isn't working anymore. They layoff people without warning and cut access shortly after the layoff occurs.
