Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Why have they kept us in the dark?

It’s incredibly inconsiderate. I’ve been extremely anxious, and the atmosphere at work has been awful.

@e7 Yes it is unhealthy. Don't blame the rank and file workers. We want to do good here. This whole thing has thrown many of us for a loop. People who don't understand must not have a mortgage, kids in college, or be over 50 worried about trying to find new work. And it is not just that layoffs are happening - we are big boys and girls. It is the ongoing nature little bits at a time. And it has to be tough on the folks who have done stellar work only to be now training their replacements simply because they live in a country with a cheap standard of living and our own government is fine with this. The response to this is indeed healthy. It su-ks.

@e5 Many of us have. They have no more information than us. In fact, they think they could get the boot along with us. A few posts have stated that managers were told at last minute who was to go. Wow someone asking a question really triggered you, why is that?

Have you talked to your manager? If you’re so anxious, maybe stop reading the ill-informed rumors on this website and work with the resources you have (ie- your manager, HR, etc..) to get real information and allow you the space to focus on your day-to-day work.

@b7 I'm thinking after return to office, get the malcontents, right before bonuses pay

My guess is the next round will hit right after the offshore of the HD functions.

Probably because they don't know what their next move is going to be, either.

But once the dust settles a bit from the GD "reorganization," I strongly suspect there will be another round of layoffs there. Could be a while, though.
