The problem with VZB is they have weak knees. One needs to be able to stand in order to win anything.

IBEW and CWA woudl sell out VZB in a heartbeat. It's been proven time and again that they simply do not give one single F about them.

Any tech hired after August 2003 has no job protection from layoffs but no facility techs were surplus this year so that tells me nobody is getting laid off anytime soon.

@bw bullsh-t! Learn history! If it wasn't for unions you would have nothing, no work protection at all. Our grandparents fought and died for the rights you have now! We all need to stand together ! #UnionStrong #unionproud

False @bw. They deserve greater protection because they bargained for it. They have greater protection under the law. It is just the reality of the situation. The advantage of being anti union is that in theory an individual can bargain for better employment terms than a group can collectively
The premise is that the individual will stand out as exceptional to the group and will be recognized and rewarded by the corporation for their greater value.

Union doesn't deserve any more job protection than non-Union.

Vzb techs are a carve out contract and NOT the same as T techs. Please remember these techs were NOT union prior to vzm purchasing them and their culture & scope of how they work are the polar opposite of T.
B DOES not have a no lay off clause. Matter of fact the wonderful union refuses every contract negotiation to address anything B related because they are a smaller group and T is their bread & butter.

I thought new hires after 2012 don’t have layoff protection

@aa Company can layoff union employees under just cause. I think Verizon has strong evidence due to continued decline of wireline performance.
