Layoff Package

To whoever got impacted by last round of layoffs, do you receive package based on your original salary or the one after TEMP paycut?

Are they laying off employees across the board from all of their entity’s?

Biden might have some "cognitive issues" but he's smart enough to know that injecting disinfectant and shining UV light where the sun don't shine will not cure covid. But that discussion is for another forum. Sorry for the digression...

We need a President who isn’t losing his mind. Biden is a nice guy but clearly having some cognitive issues right now.

PB and LK become millionaires for running this Company into the ground, destroying so many Careers, and forcing Clients to look elsewhere for a competent EHR system.

That's right. It depends what the state laws are. I once lost 5 wks of PTO pay after being laid off. Just when you need the extra $ they stick it to you again. So, much for the federal government protecting you.

@dzya+14Wf9JDb - it depends on which state you live in. In NC, any PTO you’ve accrued you will NOT get paid upon termination.

Did Allscripts pay the accrued vacations? I heard from some friends that they stopped pay it last year. If that is true, I will take all my PTOs before it is too late.

How many years did you work in Allscripts?

I was told it was four weeks and one week for every year but the papers say 12 weeks.

I don't recall there being a minimum of 12 weeks, the minimum was 4 for us in March.

Don't be fooled into thinking that CEO's are really sacrificing when they voluntarily take a salary cut. Most of their pay comes in form of very lucrative bonuses, stock options or both.

Meanwhile, CEO's salary was temporarily reduced by 40 percent until operations return to normal.
Bl@ck's 2019 salary was $1 million, and he pocketed a total of $7.5 million including stock awards and other compensation.

While PB made a big deal of cutting his pay, have his direct reports done the same?

To all that have been laid off: I wish you all the best. We all deserve better.

@1qoh+14Wf9JDb Thanks for sharing. That really a good news. Now keep my fingers crossed and work hard to get my name on the chop list. I will host a block party when I get my turn. Can not wait to get out of this place.

I got cut on Monday. Severance is based on pre-cut salary,

No evidence to support this, but I'm willing to bet that the latest severance packages are based off the new reduced pay [post pay cut]. The company is in money saving mode at all costs.

1) Layoffs in April -> Save $
2) Reduced Pay for all employees > 100k -> Save $$
3) Layoffs in May w/ reduced Severance Pay out (from reduced pay) -> Save $$$

What's next? — I expect more layoffs to occur before any pay-cuts are "reversed" so the company can continue to take advantage of reduced Severances Packages.

Super Messed Up? – YES
Will this reduce the total # of people let go because of poor company performance? – YES
Good Decision? – Difficult to say.

I assume Allscripts has a situation where they need to reduce X dollars in expenses in Y months or prepare for bankruptcy. They are likely trying to hit that target while maintaining the largest amount of employees possible – in hopes of turning things around and having the staff required to support the client base.

That said, what has happened is a sound plan to reach an expense reduction target while minimizing employee loss (if that's the goal). It's just extremely unfortunate the business is making these decisions while simultaneously choosing to still give out bonuses to management [among other things].

I was told it is one week per year of service and the minimum severance is 12 weeks regardless of years of service.

I was notified of lay off 2 weeks before pay cut went into effect and severance was based on original pay.
