Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

My productivity is gone

With layoffs looming, it’s hard to care about projects knowing I could be cut any week. Even if I survive the next round, there's always the one after that. How do people even stay motivated is beyond me.

You all keep forgetting: PP said layoffs will continue “throughout 2026”. And that 100 number? They are not gonna advertise everyone who got the ISP. You can bet the real number will be way higher. They kept all the OPS layoffs on the down low as well. They said it would be “several” people. Then guess what? It was several hundred!!

@dz One more thing...Pay attention to what they're saying. They never say 700 people. It's always seven hundred positions will be eliminated.

@a7

Your numbers are off. The total job elimination is estimated at 700. While 550+ people took the VSP, some of those roles are being refilled, meaning they weren't truly "going away."

Think of this whole situation as a huge game of musical chairs. Layer 3-4s are now in "Cascade Two," actively pooling, restructuring, and reclassifying roles. They're looking at spans and layers. Eliminated roles will have the opportunity to look for open positions. This is a much broader impact than the initial VSP figures suggest. The pooling of service, PMOs, and learning alone is going to involve a huge number of people, and the actual impact beyond the VSP could easily be more than just 100-ish people.

I wonder how the GPs with annotations next to their names feel.

Time to update your resume and get yourself a raise! It is very empowering.

I get it, trust is broken and it will take time to find a new normal. I hope you take time for yourself this weekend to relax and recharge.

There’s going to be about 100 people out of 6,500 home office associates (post VSP) that will receive an ISP, mostly due to org changes. Put your big boy/girl pants on and get back to work. This whole thing was overblown. We know the numbers now. It’s not that bad.

If my numbers are wrong, someone please correct!
