Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

It’s possible folks

About to start a new job, with a significant raise, at a tech company, doing work that will actually be seen.

Just know it’s possible to escape, to land on your feet if you get laid off in the new year, and to redefine yourself after several years at Dell. Growing companies who treat people like people really do exist.

So you're telling me that there is hope to find another tech company that won't outsource to fking India or use AI to reduce the headcount like these bstrds are doing at Dell?

@dy Not always true about private equity. Many invest in dying brands and then milk it for all it’s worth. Then declare bankruptcy.

This is great, but my experience is that Tech is pretty dead unless you are in sales. There's a massive pullback on G&A headcount, and it's not stopping any time soon. Anyone who gets the WFR would be wise to hunt in other industries (check where Private Equity is investing) for growing sectors.

I replied to another thread. My new job starts Monday, Jan 5.
Yes, there is a tech job after Dell. Yes, I was shocked as you were. 🍎
It’s WFH, and once every month or so I have to go their headquarters.
