Interesting they mentioned the possibility of promotions in January, but nothing about merit increases… unless I missed that?

@24p "Mid year" happening in October and "year end" in March has been this way for a few years. Merit increases are not tied to the faux year end.
@262 Last year we communicated merits during the week of 12/16. Guidance is that it just needs to be done before the first January paycheck, when the new amount will take effect so people hear about it from their manager and don't just see the new amount appear on a check.
@24p If I remember correctly, merit increases for 2025 started on Jan 1. Doesn’t seem like we’re on track for that in ‘26. Would be nice to know with RTO expenses looming.
Anyone know the timing on this? The fact that “year-end” performance check-ins will continue until the end of March doesn’t bode well.
@dy Don’t kid yourself. DE has all the money in the world (almost literally!) and these layoffs were more about streamlining than the company having financial problems. A 3% merit pool and dangling the possibility of promotions for people who have now had to absorb extra work is the least they can do to prevent a mass exodus once the job market picks back up
Offering raises and promotions before next rounds of layoffs is really something….
@ck I can confirm no exceptions. Everyone that makes below 300K will get 3%.
They always say 3% across the board but there are others that get more and others that get less... And 3% is total BS considering we are all now doing the jobs of 3-4 people!
The ones that get promoted are the ones that do not carry their weight and lack the knowledge & skills - except the skill for brown-nosing...
anything interesting re layoffs etc in this meeting that could affect other parts of the company ?
@b7 It was a DTC Town Hall so anyone in that division under CH.
3% merit across the board for all employees making under 300k/year. Nothing for anyone over 300k
Which employee groups were invited to this event?
can confirm raises and promotions are on the table my boss was speaking of them ..
my manager said there will be promotions in Jan but they will be extremely limited
@OP I had the same thought… seemed curious they’d mention promotions are on the table, but nothing about merit increases… not sure it was deliberate, though
i believe merit still happening
What did they say about promotions?
