@bemh - see below on disappearing post, It's a copy/paste but may be useful.

On deletions, someone posted this a couple of days ago, source below:

I've been on this site since 2015 (first with Verizon and now with GM) so hear me out:

  • mods/admins exist, they are silent tho
  • they delete messages, sometimes in bulk (eg all threads or all messages you ever posted by you or someone else may be nuked)
  • they block ip addresses, some vpns will not work as they are already blocked
  • some words are blocked and trigger reviews, try to enter xes in reverse and they'll review you
  • here are things that will trigger a review, purge or block: swearing, use of names, politics, attacking other people
  • got blocked once, never heard back from them and had to switch ip
  • if someone is crossing the line you can report it on the contact page
  • dont post in weird threads, they may bulk block you (if you do, use vpn)
  • they really cannot stop you posting, use a vpn and you are ok - if you are using a vpn, dont use bing ones like nordVPN as they have them blocked - pick a smaller providedr
  • try to avoid any discussion about race or identity groups, they dont f around with that - that's like an instant ban and all your older messages get deleted

i am sure there is more stuff that i am forgetting but this is it in the nutshell...

It’s amazing how so many posts disappear. How is that ok? Every post of mine is no longer showing on any threads except for one...one post on one thread. I post many. Will this be deleted?

That's fine. Better than escorted out like a criminal. I wonder if they'll do that to charlie with his golden parachute when the boards done with him.

WFH does not save you. They call and do it over the phone.

Has anybody been let go while working from home?

They will lay you off and deactivate your accounts the night before, so take your stuff home a week before.

Or they will call you all in a meeting and inform you that today is your last day.

Molina is hiring but they are temp positions in order not to give you benefits, health, dental, 401k not vacation.

Assets that have been sold in 2018/2019, pathways, mms, last of the clinics. Molina is being stripped down for a leaner Molina and put up for sale.

Other companies that want to acquire Molina will only want to buy it for their members which is the only thing of value to them.

4iwm, yes all of those are realistic times. Standard advice is to remove anything of value from your work area as you are often walked out without permission to return to your desk to collect items, although I have seen it done more professionally as well. Historically many folks have had trouble re-obtaining their personal personal property and that was well before most all of the more experienced HR Displacement Specialists were displaced in mid year 2018.

Any idea on a time of day these may happen, early morning, lunch time, afternoon after you have done much of your daily work?

It isn't just the excessive amount of time the smokers spend outside, but I know several that spend their time inside complaining about their overwhelming workload. Perhaps if 20 minutes of every hour wasn't spent outside they could get their work done.

You are not exaggerating with the 4 hours a day. I’ve wondered forever what kind of jobs those smokers have and how their managers tolerate their 4 sub hour days. If BNY had any intelligence in the displacement process these would be first to go or designated part time. It’s also marked non smoking and you have to hold your breath to get into the building.

What’s amusing is I observed the smokers who spend 4 hours daily outside smoking are still employed in Pittsburgh. Hahaha. Don’t they check the entrance/exit time Stamps?

Why thank you, 2bjj, for your complimentary comments. That’s me you described. I was chosen with the wave earlier this year and have not looked back. As for those wondering why I still follow this site, I hope to offer support for those remaining, many of whom are still my friends.

They will be letting go of the smartest, most hardworking and productive people (best looking, too).

They are keeping all of the stupid, lazy, ugly people, and promoting every one of them to a management position.

This was their plan all along!

I interviewed there and they said they would be in touch. That was 4 months ago.

Why are they hiring if they are planning layoffs? I have an interview there next week.

Mmm... Just how exactly would Pittsburgh getting hit hard be any different han any other day since the "merger”, btw? Everyone is either long gone, well aware of what they’re getting hired into or numb to it all after 13 years of this...

What banks are laying off tens of thousands? Many firms are having layoffs but I don’t recall seeing numbers this high.

I'm cdo commented earlier. I think 4 percent is small when other Banks are talking tens of thousands. Let's face it. If they only layoff 4 percent, then we can totally assume more every quarter. Each of these Banks like to outdo each other. If jpm and stt layoff 10 percent, then you can bet bnym will want 12 percent. So on and so on. I like the new term staff action event. Sounds better than laid off or reallocated or right sized. Can't wait to tell my wife I've been staff action evented. Just makes me proud to work here...

Which area are they getting rid of contractors?

That is a major layoff - around 4% of total staff.

These quarterly staff action events... do we have to bring our own equipment or can we borrow the BONY equipment that the cool groups all get to use for their week long Cornhole tournaments? Never yet been invited to any event but have to admit to looking out the windows with spring fever to watch them play all week and wondering if they are burning a week of vacation or actually on the clock when so many of us work the weekend for free. Please give your advice so I don’t look like a newbie. Also, if invited should I let them win?

I was let go on January 14, a high lay-offs day. Not sure of the February date(s). Does this support the future planned events?

Oh, I'm happy that when I get cut in technology it won't be a layoff, it will be a 'staff action'. Yes I know for a fact the layoffs will be after the mid-May pay period, starting the day after ... that's the pattern they are trying to follow. That's how it was in Jan and Feb.

There are 4 quarterly staff actions scheduled for 2019. Next week is second scheduled event for 2019 across BNYM.

Interesting, if you look on Indeed, they have about 350 job postings just in NY, many high paying for them.

Uhhh... cdo, other banks may indeed have have already announced much larger layoffs, some months ago, but this bank actually executed much larger layoffs some months ago, and a few months before that, and more ahead.

We have been hearing that in asset servicing too. That figure seems small. Other Banks have already announced much larger layoffs, some months ago.

We heard that they'll be getting rid of a lot of contractors in our area. It's hard to imagine getting rid of more employees, considering how backlogged we are right now.

Been saying for over a month that layoffs were third week of May. It's true. Most will be in technology. I really hate this place. I'm not in technology btw. The lazy people will stay. The people management have been dumping work on the last couple of months with short deadlines who have busted their back...those are the ones that will be let go.
