Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Hypocrisy

HC had a meeting to talk about feedback on the new policy and out of our 7 wealthy white SLT GP's FIVE were working from home, one was even taking the call from the car??? It's Tuesday, isn't Tuesday a required in office day? So for you marginalized peons with four kids working a part-time job because we don't even pay you enough, be in your seat from 8-5, we will do whatever we want.

@as I don't believe this is accurate... just because they are principals does not mean they are engaging in supervision that would require them to from a registered OSJ.

I say this from direct experience -- I am in FSD, and my home is not registered as an OSJ but rather as an RSL (remote supervisory location). If you are not supervising FAs, do not supervise those who are actively supervising FAs, then you don't have to work in a registered OSJ.

If this were true, every field GP (who are principals) would have to work in an OSJ and branch offices are not registered as OSJ or RSL.

I'm not excusing the GPs, but get your facts straight.

@d3 Yep, there are many that think they're something special and weren't just beneficiaries of being at the right place, at the right time with the right advocate....or that they helped hit DEI goals over more qualified, and inspiring, leaders that we respect.

Why have four kids if you can’t provide for them adequately?

@dw totally accurate. HC worked to get rid of what they thought was “trouble”… that’s the only thing they know how to do. For these inept GPs, I have plenty of cases in chubakka’s area where these leaders do not know the work and is causing associates more pain than gain. If they ever had any consequences for these incapable groups, people would actually trust this place more.

@ah They know they are doing wrong. They are afraid they will eventually sc--w with the wrong person. That's why they laid people off from home not face to face like a professional adult.

@b3 ahh, found the GP who got where they got by being a kool aid drinker and probably someone's c#ck holster most of their career. How does it feel to know you are part of a house of cards that is going to come crumbling down sooner rather than later? Your only skill you probably have is repeating the weekly talking points put out by another room temp iq GP.

@b3 throughout the firm there are associates with far more education and experience than the gp’s, ESPECIALLY in HC so yeah, you’re way off.

Just keep your head down and work in your role and pay grade. Don't worry what upper level management does. A losing battle with no good cheerful outcome for your sniveling and wasted energy. Should have spent more time in math and biology. Got your MBA maybe. I could be way off. Worry about keeping your job in a changing role where you will be more obsolete every 5 or 6 months.

@OP look, peasant. We don't need your negative observations out here right now. We are oneEDJ and our culture is very healthy right now for all our GPs who work endlessly to appear to be important/useful. It's hard work trying to fix things that aren't broken and break things that function just fine. Us GPs prefer to focus on how cheap indian labor and copilot can magically make our 1980 mainframe system do magic tricks. If we have enough meetings slaping each other's backs, I bet things will become more streamlined. After all, Im a GP and I know everything.

GPs are principals. Pricipal work must be performed at an OSJ, or office of supervisory jurisdiction. Homes of HBA associates and GPs with supervisory duties and our HQ buildings are OSJs. A car would not be an OSJ. So they are breaking company and regulatory policy.

All HBAs who have their home registered as an OSJ, has to submit to an annual OSJ audit by branch audit. The auditors ask questions about where work is being done. So we now have GPs breaking policy, regulations, and deceiving/lying about it.

I know the field chimes in on this site. This should also tick you off, because you're held to high standards. I'm sure you all know colleagues who have experienced compliance, regulatory, branch audit concerns.

People who are leading and running this firm are playing under different rules.

Also as a reminder they wanted everyone to work from home when laying people off.
