Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Job hunting has been the stuff of nightmares

It’s only made me more desperate. At this point, I’d give anything for just a whiff of opportunity.

Approaching end of year hiring will slow down post October. So we have 2 months before we wait for 2026. Going to be a long winter for many

YES, the IT job market is absolutely ROTTEN right now. Far too many people chasing far too few jobs.

What are you talking about? This country is on fire right now. Everyone wants in and wants to be a part of the new golden age. Markets don’t lie. They’ve baked all of these short-term, trivial bumps in and, as you can see, both sentiment and markets are booming! Booming like no one has ever seen before.

Is it true no one will even give intel applicants a chance? My personal experience it seems that way.

Might as well stop applying now. Hiring season is slowing down. Just hope you make it thru the year and try again in January.

Intel is absolutely deadweight on your resume.

@dw

Yes ride it out. Keep applying but right now too being Intel employee is a curse. Most companies flat out refuse to hire us. Black listed.

YES, the IT job market is absolutely ROTTEN right now. Far too many people chasing far too few jobs. And sadly, this OP like many others is finding out the hard way.

Let's be honest here. Any current Intel employee who is actually "hoping to get laid off" in the next round is, let's just say, not exactly a Mensa member.

I don't believe OP realizes he gives off a whiff of desperation.

Having 10+ years of Intel as a PE or anyone above is not a flex as much as you'd think huh

No one wants to hire former Intel. Maybe take Intel off resume for better luck

A lot of people are moving out of the area for new jobs here in Oregon. Might be time to start expanding your job search to a wider area.

The only whiff you'll have is the homeless food line and riding a bus.

You can apply to the jobs that employers try to hide from Americans. They place jobs they want to submit Green Cards for their h1bs tucked away in newspaper ads hoping nobody applies to them. The following site pulls these jobs ads and make them available to apply for.

Jobs.now

Here's an article about them.

If you apply and they don't answer you or offer an interview then you can report them to the DOJ. Additionally, you get to block Green Cards from the incompetent foreigners that are being brought in through h1b.
