Ford is such a dumpster fire right now.

Their middle management continues to slap each other on the back and bury themselves in the sand to the sycophancy and whims of senior leadership.

Burying problems has become the norm again, and GSR8’s are boxed in from any progressive leadership paths or say in any process improvements. Quality is abysmal and continues to circle the drain since leadership is more focused on pumping out volumes over quality metrics.

We can’t launch an AV yet try to model Tesla, who’s starting to show the cracks in their business models as rare earth materials continue to be tough to source for EVs and their id--t CEO focuses on fighting like an infant online.

It’s way worse than before. Get out now.

@1wga+1jGSSAdu China is already here. You see it in every EV sold (including tesla). Battery technology is almost exclusively Chinese (excluding LG).

Also brand-wise, Volvo is a Chinese brand. Their ICE engines are still designed in sweeden, but EV's coming from volvo are all chinese.

Successfully? Ha! Those customers that had so many recalls and issues. Ha!

Tesla has taken the NA BEV market. Ford is way behind with thousands (your own words) instead of millions of vehicles.

FYI, some of those Chinese companies are already here, with NA headquarters and all. Check the BYD Motors website. Already selling buses, forklifts and soon cars in NA. Besides, FMC is supposed to be a "Global" company, and it is already competing against Chinese brands in global markets.

For instance, 5% of all BEVs sold in Europe are Chinese. Let me give you an idea of what that means: Ford has sold 47 000 BEV in NA in the last 10 months, while Chinese brands have sold 75 000 BEVs in Europe in the first six months of this year. So yes, Ford should be afraid of the competition.

The mo--n claiming he/she/they/..... are from Haaaaarvard may very well be telling the truth as they have lowered the admission requirements in thy name of D&E. I'm not sure I'd want to be bragging about a degree in wokeness from any ivy school. As to the destruction of an auto company from the inside, time will tell......

I would ask, where are these China made EV's? I sure do not see them driving around in Michigan or anywhere else in North America. Ford Model e under Doug Field has actually delivered EV's and digital solutions to customers successfully by the thousands already.

The reality is, we have been hearing about China taking the North American automotive sector by storm for years and years now, while Ford Model e has already accomplished the feat. I for one, cannot wait for what is coming out next from Ford's company wide digital mobility transformation.

Why would anyone buy a Ford EV, when China can execute DF's skillset of copying Tesla much cheaper? Good luck to Ford's engineers and production workers.

Elite universities do give preference to and recruit athletes. I know because I was one. They do not in general give athletic scholarships (Stanford is the only exception) but the coach adds a letter to your entrance application which gives you preference.

@dvl: Elite universities such as Stanford, MIT, Caltech or the Ivies don't generally recruit National Merit Scholars or offer academic merit scholarships because they don't need to. The reputations of these schools guarantee that their applicant pools will be filled with high academic performers. Schools in the next tier down, including many large state-supported research universities, are more likely to compete for National Merit scholars by offering additional financial support, up to and including full-ride academic merit scholarships at some schools.

I've seen a few from top schools at Ford. Usually they are FCGs, got into the elite school recruited as athletes or National Merit Scholars. They choose lighter less competitive majors such as industrial or manufacturing engineering.

They are hoping to play the system working to be LL4's

I doubt we have many Harvard, MIT, or other grads from top schools. Ford only recruits candidates with 3.0 GPA minimum regardless of institution. Folks with high GPA from elite schools have much better opportunities. FCG program helps a tiny bit.

I know this because I had 2.9 at an elite institution and transferred there from a community college with a 4.0 which the Ford recruiter was thrilled to see.

If you hear someone use terms like "co-synchronous strategies", run away! You are in danger of being enveloped in a dense mist of BS. This is also a person who will quote Plato and Maslow's hierarchy of needs but cant open a can of green beans and will try to convince you that driving from detroit to chicago is faster than driving from chicago to detroit due to the coriolis effect.

As a graduate of Harvard and proud F employee, I can say this is far from reality as the companies direction is very secure for many years to come. We have many co-synchronous strategies working together to create a leader and prosperous company in the future.
