Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Is there any communication coming from Leadership?

During the COVID crisis and protests every company’s leadership has reached out to their employees with some communication and on a regular basis to keep them informed of how the company is dealing with these events. Have any of the executive “leaders” at transformco been communicating with associates with any regularity the past 3 months? And if so, what are they saying?

If anyone above you was laid off, anyone above them is entirely unaware you exist except as some info in a very poorly updated database with employee data so untrustworthy it isn't worth checking because you're doing the job of eight people, and there's no accountability so why bother?

They didn't communicate while we were still working, what makes you think they would communicate when everyone is on layoff (let go)?

The ingrates here don't understand Eddie's intelligence and acumen. He's preserved thousands of jobs after taking over a bankrupt Kmart and a failing Sears, without which those of you actually still employed would be complaining about the unfairness of it all from the unemployment line. What have any of you ever done? Shop Your Way is a popular program that worked, that increased member engagement and brand loyalty, and there is plenty of ammo left in the storied Sears and Kmart brands to make it a success. There's still a nationwide network of Sears Home Services to make it happen while TransformCo finishes its transformation into its greater tomorrow. History will prove Eddie right in the end.

This actually isn't the fault of TransformCo. If you're answering emails, by law you're working, and thus entitled to pay. The only thing that TransformCo should be communicating with you is things like benefits and when you're expected back.

in a word........NO

Each communication has been near the end of each month; each month they say "wait till next month".

The latest, done a few days ago, was that furloughs still in place; and now not re evaluating until September, and also states that a few associates here and there might be getting called back on an individual basis.

What’s the point. With the constant cheerleading every time Eddie and Sears/ tranformco fails at something, there is nothing the executive leadership could say Or do that would satisfy anyone. You all could get $10/hour raise and the majority would complain saying it’s not enough. They are a privately held company, so all of the woke and politically correct garbage that is being circulated is Not necessary since there are no stockholders to appease.

No - in fact every "leader" I've reached out to, with the exception of one, has not responded to me. I'm assuming they are cowardly using the cover of "we're not allowed to communicate with furloughed employees due to employment laws/company policy."

This is embarrassing for them, and even more embarrassing...employees have now come to expect nothing more.

They do not want us back. This is not about Covid-19. This is about them lacking the professionally, dignity or leadership skills to communicate the truth and operate with transparency. Something they also do in the "numbers" and "metrics." It will come crashing down because of their inability to lead.

Just the monthly "difficult decision" continuing furlough email, followed by the bill for health insurance.
