I am laying off someone tomorrow, that’s how I know.
19th is last day of the last pay period of Q3. Layoffs are often the last Thursday of a pay period. big hit this cycle for earnings. Probably a lot more across Q4 to make 2026 projections better.
can confirm. lot's of pressure to bring down costs regardless of revenue/business impact. everyone hates uhc. employers are pulling out and as we exit less favorable markets that hits top and bottom line. not sure where they're "reallocating capital" to make up lost revenue, probably just buybacks and dividend
