Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

I’ve never wanted an organization to fail so much

Horrible hiring practices. Recruiting black balling people. Yep, I have the names. This place used to be incredible. Then John Led and Sycamore happened. Then the layoffs started. Decided to go for cheaper not better and laid off rock star leadership. Then cheaters fu---d everything up. Then verticals happened. Then started reactivating current accounts that the cheaters were fired for. All the name of EBITA!!! Then more layoffs. Then promotions to laid off roles. Never seen so many people miserable and being lead by such weak people. Weak leadership that holds your ideas, and suffocates those ideas. Because they don’t want to rock the boat and get fired. This isn’t a way to live. All my people are gone. I hope this place crumbles like Rome of old.

@dp What department are you in that you're saying you're not miserable?

Staples was going down well before Sycamore took over. There were layoffs in my area starting in 2016. Sycamore came in because Staples was already dying. Of course, they haven't helped, but I am not really sure what would have even turned things around. The Easy button at least takes Staples back to its roots and people of nostalgia. Whether it brings extra business remains to be seen (doubtful), but it is much better than "It's Pro Time" and "Business is human." People aren't miserable where I'm sitting. We have a good team that gets along. We know that this isn't going to be forever, but I'm hanging on as long as I can because I can't find anything similar to what I have now.

Who's left in the "office supply" world? Staples and WB. Neither will make it out alive. Amazon will basically take everything and leave scraps. Whatever amazon isnt doing well now, that'll change. No one has their technology or delivery infrastructure.
